Hello, My name is Johnny. In March of 2005 my wife and I found out we were pregnant. After some discussion we decided that it would be best if I stayed home to take care of our prospective child, considering if I worked I’d just be paying for daycare. As the time neared, I gave my two weeks notice and left behind the corporate world and picked up diapers and a bottle. On December 6 my beautiful daughter was born and my stay-at-home dad journey begin. Come and join in on my successes and failures as I embark on the never-ending journey called Fatherhood.
Like every other perspective parent, I took the job, not quite sure what I was getting myself into, although I thought I did. As I look back, I can’t believe all that has happened.
My family always jokes around about making a book about the crazy things you shouldn’t have to say to your children. I’m going to feature a post to these unusual, but very true things I’ve said or my family has said to the young ones running under our feet. I must stress that all of these are very true and have been said. They will be followed by a note of who said it and maybe a short story to set the stage. Here’s one I said recently, “Don’t lick the playground equipment.”
We have just learned that my wife is pregnant again. Just about 3 years after we found about Rachel, our second child will be born.
